Personal Profile
My name is Shannen, nice to meet you! I am a driven, adaptable individual always giving my best in everything. Throughout the duration of my studies, I have learnt to be a good team-player and problem-solver without compromising on creativity.
I recently graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communications in Republic Polytechnic. I have also interned at Citi Singapore during my IIP (Industry Immersion Programme) of which I have gained meaningful industrial experience.
Academic Achievements
Over the years, I have learned many skills set such as critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills through the Problem-Based Approach that RP uses. This course has given me many industrial opportunities (Mothership, Chingay 2020, Sembawang Town Council, etc.) to hone my skills and train to be a better journalist.
In my three years of Polytechnic, I was a member of RP's student-run campus publication, The Republican Post for a year before becoming the Deputy Chief Editor for social media, and Editor of the Reviews section.
I was also the student ambassador for my course's virtual camp 2020 where I was able to lead a group of year 1s in creating a proposal in the span of 2 days.
I am a Youth Leader for my church's Youth Service, and I mainly lead discussions, plan camps, and organise services. From this, I picked up leadership and facilitation skills in planning and facilitating groups.
I am also in-charge of our publicity, and lead a team to come up with content for our Instagram page, as well as train them to become better content creators. I organise and execute publicity campaigns for our main events as well.
