Being Content In Christ

I don’t know about you but there are times that I face roadblocks that I cannot overcome, and in those moments, I realise just how much I need God to give me understanding and clarity.

In this particular case, it took months to understand.

God revealed my heart of discontentment in my season. Submerged underneath the busyness of life and endless distractions, deep within me was a deep discontentment that was eating up different parts of my life.

This roadblock has yet to move itself, but the knowledge of this deeper underlying thing has given me steps to slowly overcome and cross the roadblock. Though I don’t quite see how to overcome this struggle, I trust and know that I can be content despite knowing how. I can be content where I’m at, I can be content in seeing that God is writing His story. And in the pain, in the frustration, in the longing and desires of my heart, I can find contentment in Christ.

I can be content with the portion that He has for me, and the lot that He has already blessed me with. I can be content without answers and without all the things I wish I could have. The more I look for contentment in the world and in the pursuit of the next step, the more dissatisfied and angry I would get.

Could my confidence be in the Lord and what He has already set out for me?
