A Broken And Contrite Heart You Do Not Despise

maybe You’re looking at me from Heaven as I sit in this garden with my soul laid down, heart poured out

is it even a small fraction of what You felt Lord? a shattered, broken and contrite heart

if i even get a taste of that cup today, remind me, in my worldly grief, the prayer You prayed when You bore tenfold of the weight i carry

let not my will be done Father, but Yours

“going a little farther, He fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. “Abba, Father,” he said, “everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.””
